About PDF to Image

PDF to Image turns each page of a PDF into a separate PNG or JPG picture. It is useful when you need a page as an image for a slide, a social post, a website, or an app that does not accept PDFs.

Pages are rendered in your browser with pdf.js at twice the standard resolution, so text stays readable when you zoom in. Nothing is uploaded, and you choose between PNG for sharp, lossless results and JPG for smaller files.

How to use the PDF to Image

  1. Click the upload area and choose your PDF.
  2. Pick the output format: PNG (lossless, larger files) or JPG (smaller files).
  3. Click Convert. Each page is rendered and downloaded as filename_page_1.png, filename_page_2.png and so on.
  4. If your browser asks about multiple downloads, allow them.

What it can do

High-resolution output

Pages are drawn at 2x scale, so a standard page produces a sharp, detailed image.

PNG or JPG

PNG preserves crisp text and line art; JPG keeps photo-heavy pages smaller.

All pages converted

Every page of the document becomes its own numbered image file.

Local rendering

The PDF stays on your device throughout.

When it is useful

  • Putting a page from a report into a PowerPoint or Google Slides deck.
  • Posting a flyer or menu that you only have as a PDF on social media.
  • Creating thumbnails or previews of documents for a website.
  • Sending a page to someone who cannot open PDF files.

Good to know

  • A long PDF produces many image files and downloads, which may take a moment.
  • PNG files from full-page photos can be large. Choose JPG if file size matters.
  • The resulting images are pictures of the page, so the text is no longer selectable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Should I choose PNG or JPG?
Choose PNG for pages with text, charts and logos because it stays sharp. Choose JPG for pages made mostly of photos, where the smaller file size is worth a slight quality loss.
Q.What resolution are the images?
Pages are rendered at 2x scale. A typical A4 or Letter page therefore comes out at roughly 1,200 by 1,600 pixels or more, depending on the page size in the PDF.
Q.Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are rendered inside your browser and the images are generated on your device.
Q.Can I convert only one page?
The tool converts every page. To get a single page, first extract it with the Split PDF tool and then convert that one-page file.
Q.Why did several downloads start at once?
Each page is saved as its own file. Allow multiple downloads in your browser if it asks.
Q.Can I turn the images back into a PDF?
Yes, many tools and operating systems can print or combine images into a PDF. Note the text will not be selectable.
Q.Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
Remove the password first in a PDF reader and then convert the unprotected copy.
