About Currency Converter

The Currency Converter turns an amount from one currency into another using mid-market exchange rates. Pick the two currencies from a list of more than 150, enter an amount, and the converted value updates instantly. A swap button flips the direction.

Rates are loaded from a daily-updated public exchange-rate feed when you open the page, and the date of the last update is shown under the result. If the feed cannot be reached, the tool falls back to a built-in reference table and says so, so you always know which kind of rate you are looking at.

How to use the Currency Converter

  1. Enter the amount you want to convert.
  2. Choose the currency you are converting from.
  3. Choose the currency you are converting to. Use the swap button to reverse the pair.
  4. Read the converted amount. Check the note under the result to see whether live rates were used and when they were last updated.

What it can do

150+ currencies

Covers major, regional and many less common currencies, including the Pakistani rupee, UAE dirham, Indian rupee, euro and pound.

Daily live rates

Mid-market rates are fetched when the page loads, with the update time displayed.

Transparent fallback

If live rates are unavailable, the page says it is using approximate reference rates.

One-click swap

Reverse the conversion direction without re-selecting currencies.

When it is useful

  • Estimating the cost of an overseas purchase or trip.
  • Checking freelancer or client invoices in a different currency.
  • Comparing prices across countries.
  • Getting a rough remittance figure before using a transfer service.

Good to know

  • Mid-market rates are not the rates banks, card networks or transfer services give you. They usually add a margin and fees, so expect to receive a bit less.
  • Rates update once a day, so they can differ from live trading prices.
  • Do not use this tool for trading or legally binding calculations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Where do the exchange rates come from?
The page fetches mid-market rates from a public exchange-rate feed that updates daily. The time of the most recent update is shown under the result.
Q.Why is my bank’s rate different?
Banks and payment providers add a margin to the mid-market rate and may charge fees. The converter shows the underlying market rate, not what a provider will give you.
Q.What happens if live rates cannot be loaded?
The tool uses a built-in table of approximate reference rates and clearly labels the result as approximate.
Q.How often are rates updated?
Once per day. They are not tick-by-tick trading prices.
Q.Can I use it for forex trading?
No. Trading needs real-time quotes from a broker. This tool is for everyday estimates.
Q.Does it support cryptocurrency?
No. Only government-issued currencies are supported.
Q.How do I convert in the opposite direction?
Click the swap button between the two currency selectors.
